Dr. Alex Choi

Biography

Alex Choi, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in hospice and palliative medicine. He provides compassionate medical care to patients grappling with serious illnesses, aiming to alleviate stress and symptoms while helping them navigate their care options. Dr. Choi obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria and completed a Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital. He further trained in Hospice Palliative Medicine during his fellowship at Yale. His recent research is centered around the ethical considerations involved in delivering palliative care to adolescents and young adults suffering from advanced head and neck cancers. Dr. Choi's dedication has earned him accolades such as the Excellence in Teaching by Senior Resident Award and the Excellence in a Research Project Award, reflecting his commitment to both education and research in his field.
