Biography

Dr. Alex De Visscher is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Chemical Materials Engineering at Concordia University. His research focuses on various aspects of chemical engineering, including Kinetics and Catalysis, Transport Phenomena, Advanced Oxidation processes, Chemical Thermodynamics, and Solubility modeling. He received his Ph.D. in Bioscience Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium in 2001, and has a strong educational background in Chemical Engineering. Dr. De Visscher has published numerous books and journal articles on topics related to chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and air dispersion modeling. He held a Canada Research Chair at the University of Calgary from 2005 to 2015 and has served as the Associate Head of Graduate Studies. Currently, he teaches multiple undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students in advanced engineering topics and research.
