Biography

Alex Kudryavtsev is a research associate in the Natural Resources and Environment Section, focusing on solving social and environmental problems through sustainability education and civic engagement. Since 1996, Alex has worked in environmental education across the U.S. and internationally. He is completing his PhD on the sense of place in urban environmental education and has taught in Cornell’s Civic Ecology Lab as well as several global online courses for environmental educators. His academic interests include environmental sustainability education, urban agriculture education, green cities, and professional development for environmental educators. He also serves as an editor for the Urban Environmental Education Review, a comprehensive resource published by Cornell University Press. Alex has traveled extensively, visiting all seven continents, 50 states, and 38 countries, and is passionate about national parks, veganism, and reading.
