Biography

Alex Noël is an assistant professor in the Department of French Literature at the University of Montreal since 2022. He is the author of a monograph entitled 'Les dépossessions romanesques: lecture de la négativité chez Anne Hébert, Gabrielle Roy et Réjean Ducharme,' published by the University of Montreal Press in 2024. His research primarily focuses on modern Québécois novels and the critical discourses surrounding them, as well as LGBTQIA2+ literature from Quebec, literary reportage, and queer memory, particularly relating to the AIDS pandemic in Montreal, which he explores through a research project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). In addition to his research work, he has published around twenty creative texts in journals or collections, including four literary reports, all of which have received the Excellence Award from SODEP.
