Biography

Professor Pigot is a biodiversity scientist and macroecologist. His research seeks to understand the evolutionary origins of biodiversity and the ecological processes that maintain diversity while predicting how biodiversity will respond to human-driven global environmental change. He joined UCL in 2018 through a Royal Society Research Fellowship. Previously, Professor Pigot held a VENI fellowship at the University of Groningen from 2013 to 2017, and carried out post-doctoral research in the Department of Zoology at the University of Oxford from 2011 to 2013. He obtained his PhD from Imperial College London, where he also earned his Master of Research, after completing his Bachelor of Science at University College London.
