Biography

Alex Quinn is a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Dalhousie University. He has extensive training in cardiovascular physiology, having obtained his BSc from McGill University and both his MSc and PhD from Columbia University. He furthered his expertise through postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London. His research focuses on various aspects of cardiovascular physiology, including cardiac autoregulation, electrophysiology mechanics, mechano-electric coupling, ventricular arrhythmias, sinoatrial node dysfunction, and the intracardiac nervous system. Quinn has received several prestigious awards, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal and the Sir Harcourt Caughey Award from the Auckland Medical Research Foundation. Additionally, he actively teaches several courses related to human systems physiology and cardiovascular physiology.
