Biography

Alex Wilson is a Lecturer in Security Studies at the Department of Defence Studies at King’s College London, providing professional military education to officers from six permanently inhabited continents. He has taught history to undergraduates at the Department of War Studies and strategy to officers and diplomats at the Royal College of Defence Studies. Currently, he convenes the Land Warfare Critical Analysis Battle MA Modules. His research focuses on military history, particularly regarding India during World War II and the transnational study of the socio-political dimensions of conflict. His research has utilized archives in India and Nepal as well as battlefields in Italy and Myanmar, and he has presented various aspects of his research at conferences in China and Cameroon. Actively involved in multiple research networks, he is a member of the World War Research Group, serving as Regional Director for Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa since 2019 and appointed as a Fellow in 2020. Furthermore, he serves as a Councillor for the Army Records Society since 2019 and engages in public policy discussions surrounding his research areas.
