Biography

Alex Zhang is the Archibald C. Frances Fulk Rufty Research Professor of Law and serves as the Associate Dean for Information Services at Duke University's J. Michael Goodson Law Library. With extensive experience in legal information, library management, and interdisciplinary research methods, he has held notable positions at Washington Lee University School of Law, the University of Michigan Law School, and Stanford University Law School. Alex's research primarily focuses on legal information law, library management, and comparative lawmaking. He has co-edited the publication Global Animal Law Research, which explores animal rights and welfare topics through the insights of various experts in the field. His contributions to the field are recognized through his articles in prestigious journals such as Legal Information Management and Law Library Journal. Additionally, Alex is the author of the forthcoming book Chinese Legal Research Nutshell, which examines the legal framework and resources for researching the Chinese legal system. He is actively involved in numerous legal information associations, holding leadership positions including co-president of the Chinese American Forum on Legal Information Law Libraries. Alex received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas and his Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
