Alexander Benderskii is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Southern California. His research focuses on molecular structure dynamics, surfaces, and interfaces, with significant contributions to life sciences, nanotechnology, and materials science. He has developed powerful surface spectroscopy techniques with high sensitivity and ultrafast time resolution, facilitating improved molecular-level information content. His work includes studying the structure and dynamics of hydrogen bonding networks at aqueous interfaces and the molecular organization of surface materials used in organic photovoltaics and biomedical technology. Benderskii investigates tailored surface materials, including Langmuir-Blodgett and self-assembled monolayers, among others. He also explores new effects arising from the size of nanostructures and their applications in sensors with ultra-low detection limits. With a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Utah, Benderskii has held postdoctoral positions at Columbia University and the University of California, Irvine. He has been a part of the academic community since 2002 and has received several awards for his teaching and research efforts.
