Biography

Dr. Alexander DeLeon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His primary clinical interests include regional anesthesia, ambulatory orthopedic surgery, tissue plane blocks, and obstetric anesthesia. In addition, he has administrative responsibilities as the Associate Chair of Operational Staffing. Dr. DeLeon completed his Master of Health Administration in August 2023 and serves as an adjunct finance instructor at the Carl H. Linder College of Business at the University of Cincinnati. He is involved in the American Board of Anesthesiology and is currently a written board examiner and an oral board examiner. Dr. DeLeon is recognized for his dedication to teaching, having received multiple Golden Apple Awards for his contributions to clinical education. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan (1996), a Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (2000), and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Northwestern University, McGaw Medical Center (2004). Dr. DeLeon is an active member of several professional societies, including the Society for Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perinatology.
