Biography

Alexander Fradera is a clinical psychologist and researcher at the University of Glasgow. He completed his BSc in Psychology at University College London and returned to pursue a PhD focused on the ability to remember events that occurred, involving studies of students, older adults, and brain-injured patient populations, which he completed in 2006. After a brief postdoctoral research role, he transitioned to apply his psychology training in organizational settings, first at a psychometric consultancy firm, SHL (2007-2010), where he worked independently. His work involved psychological assessments across diverse cultural contexts in Southeast Asia and the Middle East and led to the development of psychological components for the UK government's Skills Health Check. His interests shifted toward job fit and employee engagement techniques that enable people to contribute effectively in the workplace, including participative meeting approaches. From 2011 to 2018, he worked as a science writer for the British Psychological Society, summarizing peer-reviewed research for a wider audience in publications like Occupational Digest and Research Digest. In 2018, he decided to explore Clinical Psychology, working as an assistant psychologist before being accepted into the program at the University of Glasgow, which he completed in 2022. He is currently a National Trainee representative for the Association of Clinical Psychologists and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
