Biography

Alexander Gelber is a tenured associate professor at the University of California, San Diego, in the Department of Economics and the School of Global Policy and Strategy. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Gelber's research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economic Studies, and the New England Journal of Medicine. He has co-edited the Journal of Public Economics and has held various academic positions, including assistant professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2012. Gelber has taught at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley from 2013 to 2018, where he received tenure in 2017.
