Dr. Alexander Hübner

Biography

Alexander Hübner is a Full Professor of Business Administration at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), holding the Chair in Supply Value Chain Management. His research focuses on designing sustainable supply chains and developing decision support tools for transportation, inventory management, capacity management, and assortment planning, with applications primarily in the retailing, consumer goods, and healthcare sectors. Professor Hübner completed his studies in Business Administration at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and earned his doctorate before taking on roles as an assistant professor and later as an associate professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) within the Luxembourg Centre of Logistics. He has also led the Institute of Supply Chain Management at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel and worked as a project manager at McKinsey & Company for six years. He is involved with the EURO Working Group on Retail Operations and serves on the advisory board of the German Logistics Association (BVL). He has received several accolades for his contributions to logistics and operations research, including the Emerald Literati Award for Outstanding Paper in the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management.
