Biography

Alexander Irving was born in 1962 in Ottawa, Ontario. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1987 and his Master of Fine Arts from York University in 2000. He has been exhibiting his work since 1986 and currently works out of Toronto. In addition to his artistic practice, he has taught at the Ontario College of Art and Design and currently holds the position of Lecturer at the University of Toronto Scarborough. His academic contributions include teaching in the fields of Studio Art and Curatorial Studies, further enhancing his engagement with arts and culture in academia.
