Biography

Alexander Layton KC is a Visiting Professor at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London, specializing in private international law. With over 45 years of experience, he handles a wide array of cross-border civil and commercial disputes and aspects of public international law, particularly state immunity. He has appeared as counsel in the Court of Justice of the European Union and in various courts including Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. He has been a Bencher of Middle Temple and has served as a Recorder and Deputy High Court Judge. Layton is involved in advisory roles at Oxford University and serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals related to private international law.
