Biography

Alexander Mack is a lecturer at Bern University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Engineering Information Technology. He also collaborates with the University of Bern as part of the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering program and the Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne in the College of Management of Technology. He obtained his master’s degrees in political science in 1997 and economics in 1999 from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, and completed a postgraduate certificate in higher education research studies in 2002. Mack earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Neuchâtel in 2009. His career includes experience in the private sector with LBS BMW Munich, as well as an internship at the European Parliament in Brussels, where he was involved with the Committee on Industry, External Trade, Research, and Energy. His research initially focused on knowledge management production and technology transfer, specifically through the lens of efficiency measurement as part of his doctoral studies. In 2008, he worked as a scientific collaborator at Eco’Diagnostic in Geneva, where he continued his research on applied public economics.
