Biography

Alex Sandhu, MD, MS, is a cardiologist with a special interest in advanced heart failure. He graduated from a seven-year combined BA-MD program at Northwestern University with a focus on economics and mathematics. After completing his internal medicine residency at Stanford University, which included a global health track at Makerere Hospital in Uganda, he earned a Master's degree in Health Services Research at Stanford. He joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in Cardiology at the Stanford Prevention Research Center. His research focuses on implementing high-value preventive strategies, conducting clinical trials, and exploring health economics. He has been involved in several clinical trials aimed at improving management for heart failure patients using patient-centered strategies. Beyond his clinical work, Alex enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his children.
