Biography

Alexander Watson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistical Science at University College London. He completed his PhD in Statistics at the University of Bath, where he was supervised by Andreas E. Kyprianou. Following his doctoral studies during early 2014, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at CIMAT and later joined the University of Zürich, engaging in research under the guidance of Jean Bertoin. In 2015, Watson moved to the University of Manchester to serve as a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics, where he contributed to various academic initiatives until 2019. That year, he transitioned to his current role at University College London, where he continues to pursue his research interests in statistical science. He actively participates in the statistical community, engaging in collaborative research and mentoring students.
