Biography

Alexander Weimann is an internationally renowned keyboard artist dedicated to the therapeutic power of beauty through music. Having grown up in Munich, he was fascinated by the magic of the church organ at an early age. He began piano at six and took formal organ lessons at twelve, later studying harpsichord along with theatre theory and medieval Latin jazz piano at university. Alexander is in high demand as a director, soloist, and chamber musician, traveling across the world with leading North American and European ensembles. He currently serves as the Artistic Director of the Pacific Baroque Orchestra in Vancouver and teaches at the University of British Columbia, where he directs the Baroque Orchestra Mentorship Programme. He has appeared on over 100 recordings, including the Juno-award-winning album "Prima Donna" with Karina Gauvin and the Arion Baroque Orchestra. His latest album series, "The Art of Improvisation," showcases his passions for baroque music, improvisation, organ, harpsichord, and piano.
