Biography

Alexandra Blair is an Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. She has extensive training in public health and epidemiology, earning her PhD from the École de santé publique de l’Université de Montréal in 2019. Her previous academic qualifications include an MSc in Psychiatry from McGill University (2014) and a BA in Environmental Studies and Feminist Studies, also from McGill University (2012). With a background as a Senior Epidemiologist at the Public Health Agency of Canada, Blair specializes in social determinants of health, health equity, and epidemiological methods. Her teaching and research interests focus on social epidemiology, causal inference, and population health intervention research. She is actively involved with the DLSPH Social Epidemiology Lab and has substantial experience in applied public health and health surveillance.
