Dr. Alexandra Cirone

Biography

Alexandra 'Ali' Cirone is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a research appointment at the BI Norwegian Business School and is a non-resident fellow at the Democratic Innovations Program at Yale University. She is one of the editors and co-founders of Broadstreet.blog, which focuses on historical political economy. Her research interests center around political selection, institutional design in democracies, lottocratic governance, and historical political economy. She combines quantitative and computational methods with historical data and employs natural and quasi-experimental research designs along with extensive archival research. Her recent work has been published in esteemed journals such as the American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, World Politics, Political Science Research Methods, Journal of Historical Political Economy, and Annual Review of Political Science.
