Biography

Alexandra Jugelt started her PhD under the guidance of Johannes Quack in January 2022 as a scholarship holder from the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung. She currently works as a research assistant at the Chair of Religious Studies and History of Religions at Goethe University Frankfurt. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Social Cultural Anthropology and went on to earn a Master's degree in Religious Studies at Goethe University in 2019. Following her education, Alexandra coordinated a pilot project aimed at addressing the prevention of Islamism in schools near Frankfurt for several years. Her work experiences are pivotal to her PhD project, which examines the negotiation of responsibility in prevention projects related to Islamist extremism, with a special focus on the roles and dynamics involved in the positions of Muslims within these fields.
