Dr. Alexandra Mitter

Biography

Alexandra Mitter is an Adjunct Professor at Cornell Law School and the Supervising Attorney and Director of the Justice Project Center focused on Appellate Litigation in New York City. After graduation, Alexandra worked as an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP, where she represented corporations and individuals in a wide range of internal investigations, complex criminal, and civil litigation. She also clerked for the Honorable Andrew L. Carter, Jr. and James L. Cott in the Southern District of New York. Alexandra graduated Phi Beta Kappa with the highest distinction in History and Anthropology from the University of Michigan and earned her J.D. cum laude from NYU School of Law, where she served as the Symposium Editor for the Annual Survey of American Law. In her role at the law school, she leads the Reentry Clinic, helping formerly incarcerated individuals obtain employment and licensure at administrative hearings before the Secretary of State.
