Alexandra Reza is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Literature at the University of Bristol. Her research explores cultural production in the context of decolonization, focusing on the histories of European empires and their spatial, cultural, political, and linguistic impacts. Reza's work proposes connections between resistive practices and re-imagining the spatial coordinates of culture, politics, and literary studies. She investigates anticolonial writing and art's role in contesting colonial and post-imperial spatial imaginaries. Among her publications is the upcoming monograph, 'Anticolonial Form: Literary Journals End Empire' (OUP: 2024), which analyzes the intersections of transnational literary journals and anticolonial writers across francophone, lusophone, and anglophone contexts during the 1950s and 1960s. Reza was also a guest editor for a special issue of the 'South Atlantic Quarterly', and she has contributed to several media outlets including London Review of Books and New Left Review. As a translator, she works with poetry and prose in French, Portuguese, and English.
