Dr. Alexandra Stern

Biography

Alexandra Stern, MD, specializes in cardiovascular disease and serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College. With over twenty-seven years of clinical practice in non-invasive cardiology, Dr. Stern has significant experience providing comprehensive care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She focuses on office-based non-invasive cardiac testing, including echocardiography and stress testing. Her areas of interest include atherosclerotic heart disease, valvular heart disease, hypertension, preoperative consultation, lipid disorders, and arrhythmia management. Dr. Stern earned her AB from the University of Chicago in 1986 and her MD from NYU School of Medicine in 1990. She completed her residency and was a Chief Resident at NYU Langone Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital, finishing in 1994, and later completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases in 1997, with a concentration in echocardiography. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as in Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Stern is dedicated to advancing the field through her research and collaborations with various organizations.
