Alexandra Timmer is an Associate Professor of Human Rights Law at Utrecht University and an affiliated researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM). Her research focuses on equality, non-discrimination, European Union law, the European Convention on Human Rights, international human rights treaties, and Dutch law, with a particularly keen interest in gender law. In addition, she has served as a senior coordinator for the European network of legal experts in gender equality and non-discrimination since 2015. Timmer has collaborated on various international projects, including leading a work package for the large-scale EU FP-7 funded project 'FRAME' from 2013 to 2017. Her academic credentials include a PhD obtained from Ghent University in 2014, an LL.M. from Leiden University, and a Fulbright scholarship for study at Columbia University.
