I am an assistant professor in criminology at the Université de Montréal, specializing in forensic psychology with a focus on atypical sexual behaviors and vulnerable populations within the criminal justice system. My research primarily addresses zoophilia and sexual behaviors towards animals, social perceptions of sexual violence, the experiences of deaf/hard of hearing individuals in the judicial system, the evaluation of specialized mental health courts, and incels. My methodological approach combines quantitative and qualitative analyses, online community research, and program evaluations to develop a rigorous empirical understanding of often stigmatized phenomena. My research aims to reduce prejudice against marginalized populations, improve clinical and judicial interventions, and inform public policies based on evidence. Through my publications, teaching, and international collaborations, I seek to bridge gaps in the scientific literature while developing effective therapeutic and preventive approaches for these populations, which are often neglected by traditional research.
