Biography

Dr. Alexandre Prat is a professor at the Department of Neurosciences at the Université de Montréal and a senior researcher at the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM). He obtained his B.Sc. in Biochemistry in 1990 and later earned an MD-MSc combined degree in 1995. His work aims to decode how the BBB regulates the passage of cells and molecules to enhance understanding of diseases like multiple sclerosis and brain tumors. He leads a research team at CRCHUM, has been a member of several committees and is an active reviewer for numerous scientific journals. He has served as a speaker at over 100 conferences globally and has received accolades including the S. Weir Mitchell Award from the American Academy of Neurology for his fundamental contributions to multiple sclerosis science. Dr. Prat is recognized for his innovative approaches in neuroimmunology and continues to influence the field through teaching and collaborative research initiatives.
