Biography

Alexia Belperron attended Cornell University, where she double majored in Biochemistry and Business Management. After graduation, she worked for a small startup developing HIV therapeutics, which solidified her love for research. She then attended Dartmouth Medical School, where she worked on malaria and Toxoplasma parasites, receiving her PhD in Biochemistry. Her interest in infectious vector-borne diseases led her to Yale Medical School to complete a post-doctoral fellowship focusing on Lyme disease and tick-borne infections. She has remained at Yale, becoming faculty in the Section of Rheumatology, where she investigates tick-borne diseases and immune responses while pursuing her passion for teaching medical undergraduate students.
