Biography

Alfonso Nocilla is a tenured Associate Professor and a Catalyst Capital Fellow specializing in Insolvency Law at Western University. His academic interests are broad, focusing particularly on commercial law, with an emphasis on Canadian cross-border bankruptcy and insolvency restructuring. Nocilla employs methodologically diverse research approaches, incorporating comparative and empirical methodologies. Nocilla holds a Ph.D. in corporate insolvency law from University College London, where he was supported by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Fellowship. He is also recognized for his forthcoming sabbatical as a Massey Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Massey College, scheduled for 2025-2026.
