Dr. Ali Dehghantanha

Biography

Ali Dehghantanha is a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence at the University of Guelph. He is the Director of the Cyber Science Lab, a research lab dedicated to advancing studies and education in cybersecurity. Dehghantanha has established the Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence program and has a strong focus on interdisciplinary research integrating digital forensics and artificial intelligence. His work includes developing multi-view multi-kernel deep fuzzy agents to detect advanced persistent threat actors and crafting AI-based detection engines for ransomware in IoT networks. His research themes address the need for active cyber threat hunting and effective responses to cyber incidents, utilizing machine learning algorithms for enhanced security measures. He is recognized as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and has served as a board referee for the journal Digital Investigation. Dehghantanha's expertise encompasses adversarial machine learning and the development of anti-forensics systems, contributing important insights into the vulnerabilities of machine learning in cybersecurity.
