Biography

Professor Ali Hajimiri is a Bren Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Space-Based Solar Power Project. He received his B.S. from Sharif University of Technology in 1994, followed by an M.S. from Stanford University in 1996, and completed his Ph.D. in 1998. Prof. Hajimiri's career at Caltech began in 1998 as an Assistant Professor and has progressed through various academic ranks including Associate Professor and full Professor. Throughout his career, he has taken on leadership roles such as Executive Officer and Director of Information Science Technology. His research interests encompass integrated circuits, nano-photonics, biosensing, and wireless power transfer, among others. He is particularly focused on the applications of integrated circuits in disciplines such as biotechnology and communications.
