Biography

Ali Asghar Nazari Shirehjini is a senior research scientist and visiting professor at the University of Ottawa. His professional interests encompass the Internet of Things, Smart Home technologies, Data Monetization, Human-Computer Interaction, and Distributed Systems. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science with honors from Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, in December 2008, following his Dipl.-Ing. degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel, Germany, in 2001. Between 2001 and 2008, he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics in Darmstadt, Germany. From December 2008 to April 2011, he was a Vision 2010 Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa. He served as an assistant professor at Sharif University of Technology from 2013 to 2018 and was also recognized as a senior researcher at the Distributed Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (DAI-Labor) at TU Berlin, Germany, from 2011 to 2013.
