Biography

Ali Nazemi joined the Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University in August 2015 as a strategic hire focusing on Water Resources. Previously, he was a Senior Hydrologist at the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency, providing science support for provincial government water resource management. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan. His research involves developing new methodologies and modeling tools to address water security challenges, particularly in response to climate and anthropogenic changes. Dr. Nazemi is committed to the communication of research findings to the public and to training the next generation of water security experts in Canada and beyond. He holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham, UK. His broad research interests include hydrology, water security, climate change, coupled human-water systems, and the development of mathematical modeling algorithms.
