Ali Pirasteh graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and attended the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he developed a research focus in abdominal MRI. Following his residency, Dr. Pirasteh completed a Body MRI fellowship at UT Southwestern, concentrating on the development of novel MR imaging techniques. He furthered his training with a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Pirasteh joined the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2019 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology. He currently serves as the Associate Chief MRI Clinical Director for PET/MRI and focuses his clinical research on the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic radiotracers, rapid MR image acquisition techniques, and the applications of PET/MRI.
