Biography

Professor Ali Saeidi holds a PhD in geomechanics with a specialization in risk analysis from the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, France. He is currently a full professor of geomechanics at Université Laval, where he leads multiple research projects focusing on geomechanical and geotechnical risk assessments. His work includes studying the risks associated with rock mass erosion related to spillways and the instability of underground structures due to landslides. Over the years, he has successfully secured substantial funding for his research initiatives. Before joining Université Laval, he served as a full professor at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and held positions such as associate professor and temporary teaching and research associate in France. He has extensive academic and professional experience, including as a lecturer and a design engineer in Iran, and he completed his postdoctoral fellowship in the Iyengar Lab at the Systems Biology Center at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York from 2007 to 2011.
