Biography

Ali Ülkü is a Professor and Director of the Centre for Research on Sustainable Supply Chain Analytics at Dalhousie University. His academic background includes a PhD in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo, an MSc in Operations Research from Çukurova University, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University. His research focuses on circular sustainable supply chain logistics systems, analyzing manufacturing and retailing service operations, green marketing, optimal contract designs, and analytical modeling for sustainable consumption. He is also involved in interdisciplinary research addressing big data's impact on societal and environmental issues. A strong advocate for science teaching and student-led research, he has received several awards, including the Honours Research Star Award from the Faculty of Management in 2021 and the Distinguished Professor Award from the IEOM Society in 2019. He has served as Program Chair for the Canadian Operational Research Society's 60th Annual Conference in 2018 and has been an Associate Editor for various academic journals.
