Professor Dr. Alice Agogino

Biography

Alice M. Agogino is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds the Roscoe Elizabeth Hughes Chair and serves as the Head Advisor for the MEng Program. As the founder of the Graduate School Product Design Concentration, she has made significant contributions to the field of intelligent learning systems and product design. Her research areas include information retrieval, data mining, multiobjective strategic product design, nonlinear optimization, and intelligent control systems. Agogino's work also encompasses sensor validation and fusion diagnostics, wireless sensor networks, and multimedia computer-aided design. Additionally, she is committed to advancing gender equity within engineering and technology disciplines. Agogino has published extensively and is recognized for her influence in shaping engineering education and research.
