Dr. Alice Bryer

Biography

Alice Bryer is a Reader in Accounting at the University of Bristol, where she focuses on the intersection of accounting and sustainability. Her research explores alternative organizations, indigenous practices, and action research, primarily through fieldwork with cooperatives and social movements in countries such as Argentina, Spain, the USA, and the UK. Bryer's contributions to the field are well-recognized, as evidenced by her publications in leading journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, and the Auditing Accountability Journal. Additionally, she serves as an editor for the British Accounting Review and Critical Perspectives on Accounting. Bryer also co-chairs the Sustainability Committee at the Business School of the University of Bristol, where her efforts are directed toward mobilizing impact through workshops with cooperatives and community organizations.
