Dr. Alice Ting

Biography

Alice Ting is a Professor in the Department of Biology at Stanford University. She earned her A.B. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 1996, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000. She completed her postdoctoral research in Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego in 2002, under the mentorship of Roger Tsien. Her research primarily focuses on molecular technologies related to the study of protein networks, mitochondria, synapses, and RNA. She holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Chemistry, affirming her interdisciplinary contributions to the field. Based at Stanford, her laboratory, the Ting Lab, aims to advance the understanding of key biological processes through innovative experimental approaches and has garnered recognition within the scientific community for its impactful work.
