Biography

Alice Wilcoxson is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Purdue University. She returned to Purdue in 2004, initially holding a joint appointment as a Continuing Lecturer in the Department of Health and Kinesiology and as an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Throughout her tenure at Purdue, she has maintained a focus on injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment for NCAA Division athletics, as well as general outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Wilcoxson's expertise includes Vocal Cord Dysfunction and Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction affecting athletes. She teaches various courses, including Applied Clinical Anatomy and Athletic Training Modalities, while contributing to her field as a member of the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association, where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021. Her educational background includes a PhD from Purdue University and licensure as both an Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist in Indiana. Wilcoxson has earned numerous accolades, including Outstanding Educator Awards and recognition as Undergraduate Teacher of the Year from her department. Her research interests focus on Healthy Lifestyles and Vital Longevity, contributing significantly to inter-professional education and athletic training.
