Dr. Alicia Carriquiry

Biography

Alicia Carriquiry is a Distinguished Professor and holder of the President’s Chair at Iowa State University, where she serves as the Director of the Center for Statistics Applications. Her research specializes in Bayesian statistics and the application of statistical methodologies across various fields, including human nutrition, bioinformatics, forensic sciences, and traffic safety. Carriquiry earned her doctorate in statistics from Iowa State University, and she is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. She is also a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and the American Statistical Association. Her significant contributions to the field include editing and authoring 16 books and publishing over 150 peer-reviewed articles, collaborating with faculty, researchers, and students within the College of Arts and Sciences.
