Biography

Alicia Curtin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Brown University. She has been a part of the department since 1991, serving as a gerontological nurse practitioner and clinician educator. Dr. Curtin is responsible for geriatric education for Family Medicine and Internal Medicine resident physicians. She coordinates the geriatric/rehabilitation block rotation and oversees a longitudinal geriatric curriculum. Additionally, she serves as a consultant for inpatient Family Medicine teams concerning geriatric assessments. Her research focuses on improving functional and cognitive abilities in older adults, particularly those with dementia, as well as curriculum development in geriatrics and the efficacy of interdisciplinary teams in community and international health settings. Dr. Curtin is also fluent in Spanish.
