Dr. Alicia Kent

Biography

Alicia Kent awarded PhD from the University of London in 2006. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Comparative Literature and Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American Studies at King’s College London. Her teaching involves comparative readings, theories of literature and empire, modern Spanish culture, and surrealism and visuality. Kent has a significant focus on the intersection of literature and visual arts in early 20th-century Europe, with her doctoral research centered on interwar surrealist literary reviews in France and Spain. Current research interests include domesticity in surrealism and the European avant-garde. She actively supervises graduate students exploring topics related to surrealism and intermediality. Kent serves as the Chair of the Comparative Literature Staff-Student Liaison Committee, thereby contributing to the academic environment and student engagement in her department.
