Before joining the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 2020, I earned B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University. My primary responsibilities include managing online graduate certificate Master’s degree programs in weather climate risk and data analytics, teaching two courses for these programs, and advising online students. I focus on teaching and mentorship to help students effectively learn and statistically analyze multidimensional weather climate data. I enjoy mentoring undergraduate students on research projects; if interested in a project by Fall 2025, please reach out via email. My research includes limited studies at the intersection of social science and severe weather, such as surveying UIUC students’ responses to severe weather events and conducting observational studies of high-impact weather phenomena. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, dancing (hip-hop & Latin), and playing the cello.
GRE is optional for admission to all graduate programs in Statistics. Full status admission requires higher language scores than limited status.
