Biography

Alicia Schaeffer teaches Composition, Rhetoric, Creative Writing, Technical Writing, and Business Writing at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She has served as a Faculty Consultant in the Writing Center and has conducted creative writing workshops throughout the Metro Detroit area. Schaeffer has had a diverse teaching career, including instructing composition and creative writing at SUNY-Purchase and the Westchester County Correctional Facility. Additionally, Alicia holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College and her nonfiction and fiction works have been published in several literary magazines, including Post Road, Word Riot, and Harlem Georama. Her contributions to the field reflect a commitment to both teaching and service in the literary community.
