Biography

Alicja Cieslak completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta and a residency in Neurology at the University of British Columbia. In July 2015, she joined the University of Calgary's Neurosciences Department as a fellow in the Cognitive Neurosciences program. During her fellowship, her research interests focused on reviewing therapeutic strategies for Vascular Cognitive Impairment, contributing to the understanding of Mild Behavioural Impairment and how neurodegenerative diseases affect cognition and behavior. In June 2017, Cieslak completed her fellowship and joined the Cognitive Neurosciences clinic, expanding her expertise. That same year, she also joined the Movement Disorders clinic, where she follows patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, applying her training in Cognitive Neurology to assess cognitive changes in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease. Additionally, she sees patients in General and Urgent Neurology clinics.
