Aline Eid is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on Beam Dynamics, particularly in the areas of wireless sensing, ultra-low power backscatter communications, and wireless power transfer. Dr. Eid aims to build systems that utilize millimeter-wave and sub-THz electromagnetic waves to address pressing technological and societal challenges. Prior to her current role, she was a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Media Lab, where she worked with the Signal Kinetics group. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2021 and her Master’s degree from the American University of Beirut in 2017. Aline is passionate about utilizing focused energy beams to probe, image, and energize engineered targets with the goal of shaping future sustainable energy networks, smart city infrastructures, and autonomous robots and vehicles. She is actively looking for motivated Ph.D. students interested in joining her research group.
