Dr. Alireza Salem

Biography

Alireza Salem, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Medical Center. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Baylor University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Surgical Pathology with a specialization in Breast Pathology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He obtained his Medical Degree from Islamic Azad University in Tehran, Iran. Dr. Salem has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals focusing on various aspects of breast pathology. His current research interests revolve around the molecular underpinnings of breast cancer and its therapeutic vulnerabilities, aiming to improve treatment strategies for this prevalent disease. He is actively involved in several professional societies, including the United States Canadian Academy of Pathology and the College of American Pathologists, and is board certified in his specialty. Dr. Salem is dedicated to advancing the field of pathology through both education and research.
