Biography

Alisa Grafton joined University College London in September 2023 as the Notarial Practice Course Lead and Course Convenor. With a career spanning over a quarter of a century, Alisa is an experienced Scrivener Notary Public, having qualified as a general Notary Public in 2005 and a Scrivener Notary in 2007. Prior to joining UCL, she held partnerships at Cheeswrights LLP from 2012 to 2021 and De Pinna LLP from 2021 to 2022. In August 2023, she became a consultant and joined Notable Notaries, a reputable and growing firm of general Scrivener Notaries based in Marylebone and Mayfair, where she continues to practice with a diverse corporate and private clientele. Alisa is a qualified (non-practising) civil law lawyer with a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence from the Moscow State Academy of Law and has experience living and working in Madrid, Spain, during her studies. She is a professional speaker and an expert in networking and effective collaboration, particularly in the context of the Generation Z workplace. Alisa authored the book "Great Networking: The Art of Building Authentic Professional Relationships," published by LID Publishing in 2022, which was shortlisted for the Business Book Awards in 2023. She is passionate about diversity in City Law and is the founder of the 697 Women initiative, as well as a former board member of the City Women Network and the Global Thinkers Forum’s Athena40, where she has mentored young women globally, including in Thailand and Nigeria.
